CLOISSONE MUSICAL STRESS BALLS "HEALTH BALLS": For hundreds of years iron balls have been used in China, both by emperors and ordinary people. Regular use is reputed to calm the mind and body, and to prevent, alleviate and even cure some ailments. Originally the balls were solid, but then they made hollow, each containing a chiming mechanism : one chimes high note representing the ‘yin’ (the female, the moon, the phoenix), the other a low note, the ‘yang’ (the male, the sun, the dragon).

Chinese medical theory claims that our fingers are connected with our heart and all the other main organs and that by using the iron balls, acupuncture points on the hand can be stimulated, which in turn improve blood circulation and relax muscles and joints.

Instructions for use : Place the two iron balls on the palm of your hand. Curl and stretch your fingers one by one as you rotate the balls either clockwise or anticlockwise. Ideally the balls should not bang against each other, nor should they even touch; however, this is difficult to avoid when you begin practicing. Gradually, as you become more skilful, you will be able to rotate the balls at greater speed and without jolting them. Make sure you practice over a soft surface, in case you accidentally drop the balls.
