Bonsai is a Japanese word meaning small tree growing in a shallow container. The art of Bonsai has flourished in Japan for centuries but has now spread world-wide. Bonsai become highly valued possessions after only a few years.

All tree seeds are much slower to germinate than flower and plant seeds. It will take from 3 to 12 weeks for shoots to appear depending on the variety of tree you choose.
